Frequently Asked Questions
New patient or longtime visitor, here are the questions we hear most. If yours is not on the list, just ask us in store or give us a call.
Your First Visit
Q: Do I need a medical marijuana card to shop at Mosaic?
A: Yes. Oklahoma is a medical only state. You need a valid OMMA patient license to purchase cannabis at Mosaic. If you do not have one yet, visit the OMMA website at omma.ok.gov to apply. The process is done online and most patients receive their license within two weeks.
Q: What do I need to bring on my first visit?
A: Bring your valid OMMA patient license and a government issued photo ID. Both are required. We cannot process a sale without them.
Q: Can I bring a friend who is not a patient?
A: Non patients are welcome in the lobby area. Only valid OMMA license holders can enter the dispensary floor and make purchases.
Q: Is there parking at the Western Ave location?
A: Yes. Parking is available directly at our location at 3703 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
Q: What should I expect when I walk in for the first time?
A: You check in at the front, show your OMMA license and ID, and then one of our budtenders walks you through the menu. Tell them how you want to feel and they take it from there. Nobody rushes you and nobody judges what you do or do not know. If you want more detail before you come in, read our First Time Patient Guide.
Q: Can I order online before I come in?
A: Yes. You can browse and order through our online menu for pickup at the OKC location. Head to our Shop page to get started.
OMMA and Oklahoma Cannabis Law
Q: What is OMMA?
A: OMMA stands for Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. It is the state agency that regulates medical cannabis in Oklahoma and issues patient licenses.
Q: How do I get an OMMA patient license?
A: You apply online at omma.ok.gov. You need a recommendation from an Oklahoma licensed physician, a valid Oklahoma ID or proof of residency, and the application fee. Most licenses are issued within two weeks of approval.
Q: How long does an OMMA license last?
A: OMMA patient licenses are valid for two years from the date of issue. You can renew through the OMMA website before your license expires.
Q: Can I use an out of state medical card at Mosaic?
A: No. Oklahoma only accepts valid OMMA patient licenses issued by the state of Oklahoma. Out of state medical cards are not accepted.
Q: Is Oklahoma a recreational cannabis state?
A: No. Oklahoma is medical only. You must have a valid OMMA patient license to purchase cannabis from any dispensary in the state.
The Spectrum of Effects
Q: What is the Spectrum of Effects?
A: The Spectrum of Effects is Mosaic's framework for categorizing every cannabis product by the experience it produces, not by strain name or THC percentage. Every product on our menu is evaluated for its terpene and cannabinoid profile and placed on one of seven experiential states: Rest, Reflect, Casual, Balance, Focus, Inspire, and Active. You start with how you want to feel and work backward to the product. Learn more about the Spectrum here.
Q: Why does Mosaic use the Spectrum instead of indica and sativa labels?
A: Because indica and sativa do not reliably predict how a product makes you feel. They are botanical classifications, not experiential ones. Terpenes and cannabinoid ratios are what actually shape your experience. The Spectrum is built on that science.
Q: Does every product at Mosaic have a Spectrum placement?
A: Yes. Every flower, concentrate, edible, and vape on our menu has been evaluated and placed on the Spectrum. Ask your budtender if you want to know where a specific product falls.
Q: What if I do not know which state I want?
A: That is exactly what our budtenders are trained for. Tell them when you plan to use it, what you want to get out of the experience, and whether you have used cannabis before. They will find the right starting point for you.
Q: Can I use the Spectrum if I am a first time cannabis patient?
A: Yes. The Spectrum is especially useful for first time patients because it removes the guesswork. You do not need to know anything about terpenes or cannabinoids. You just need to know how you want to feel.
Products and Formats
Q: What is the difference between flower, concentrate, and edible?
A: Flower is the dried cannabis plant that you smoke or vaporize. It has the fastest onset, typically within minutes, and effects that last one to three hours. Concentrates are extracted forms of cannabis that are much more potent than flower. They are vaporized or dabbed and also have a fast onset. Edibles are food or drink products infused with cannabis. They take longer to kick in, usually thirty minutes to two hours, and produce longer lasting effects. Your budtender can walk you through which format fits your experience level and goals.
Q: What is solventless cannabis and why does Mosaic carry it?
A: Solventless concentrates are made without chemical solvents like butane or CO2. Instead they use water, heat, and pressure to extract cannabinoids and terpenes. The result is a cleaner product that preserves the full terpene profile of the plant. Mosaic carries solventless concentrates because they align with our commitment to quality and transparency.
Q: What is rosin?
A: Rosin is a solventless concentrate made by applying heat and pressure to cannabis flower or hash. It is one of the purest forms of concentrate available because no chemicals are used in the extraction process. Mosaic carries rosin from select producers who meet our quality standards.
Q: What is live resin?
A: Live resin is a concentrate made from freshly frozen cannabis plant material rather than dried and cured flower. Freezing the plant immediately after harvest preserves a higher percentage of its original terpene profile. The result is a more aromatic and flavorful concentrate.
Q: Do you carry CBD products?
A: Yes. We carry wellness products including CBD options. Ask your budtender for current availability.
Q: How do I know which THC percentage is right for me?
A: THC percentage tells you potency, not effect. A product with 30% THC and a terpene profile you are not suited for will serve you worse than a 18% product with the right profile for your goals. Your budtender will guide you based on your experience level and what you are trying to achieve, not just the number on the label.
Resonant Cultivation
Q: What is Resonant Cultivation?
A: Resonant Cultivation is Mosaic's in house grow operation. We cultivate cannabis organically in living soil and carry the product directly on our shelves. No middlemen. No mystery about where it came from or how it was grown. Read more about Resonant Cultivation here.
Q: What does living soil mean?
A: Living soil is a cultivation method that builds and maintains a complex ecosystem of microorganisms in the soil. Those microorganisms break down organic matter and feed the plant naturally, the way cannabis grows in nature. No synthetic nutrients are used. The plant takes what it needs from the soil and expresses its genetics more fully as a result.
Q: Are Resonant Cultivation products organic?
A: Resonant Cultivation grows in living soil without synthetic pesticides or nutrients. The grow is built around organic principles from the ground up. Ask your budtender about specific products and current availability.
Q: Are Resonant Cultivation products tested?
A: Yes. All cannabis products sold in Oklahoma are required by OMMA to be tested by a licensed third party testing facility before they can be sold. Test results verify cannabinoid and terpene profiles, confirm the absence of pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contaminants, and are available on request.
